Just finished a baby quilt for a friend over the weekend.

Final size was 36" X 40".

Hooked on Avengers

So I've been waiting to do this post til I got them all done, but I just can't handle it cause they so adorable...

Loki was for a friends birthday present... and Thor and Captian America will soon be joined by Ironman and hopefully the Hulk...

I'm so excited they are turning out so great!

Swimming

Royer Pool

So.. this morning I swam laps at 6 AM and about 20 minutes later I was done.. real done. I haven't gone swimming for just exercise (apart from swimming lessons as a child) ever. I can already feel a dull pain in one of the muscles in my right arm/shoulder region that I haven't apparently used in a while. Although I must say that swimming is a lot less harsh on my joints compared to running and much more refreshing.

I am hoping that (like running) I will be able to build up my endurance and swim for longer the more I do it, but we will have to wait and see I guess.

I am hoping to swim laps from 6 AM to 7:30 AM every M/W/F and to run with Ryan at 7 AM on T & TH.. I will be taking the weekends off to rest and gear myself up for the next week! Wish me luck!

Crown Royal Quilt

Just wanted to share a quilt that Alissa, Jillian, and I made out of Crown Royal bags in 2009. It was one long day and night of quilting! We should do this again!!

Quilt Squares

I have also spent this weekend working on a baby quilt for a friend (she is having a girl). Below is a sneak peak of the squares I have been working on (apologies for the lighting and quality of the photos - they were taken from my phone). I will be posting the final product in a couple weeks after she has seen it. I don't want to ruin the surprise.

This one is my favorite!

Pillow Covers

I finished two more pillow covers for a friend this weekend. The striped material has a smooth and silky texture whereas the print material is more of an outdoor fabric with more defined threads. I didn't choose the material for this project, but I really like the contrast of the two together.

5K - Indiana

Last Saturday a number of my family members participated in the 5K Patoot Fun Run in Peterson, Iowa as one of our family reunion activities. My time was 40.44.96 not bad for my first 5K ever! And to keep my mother and myself motivated to keep running - we will be participating in another 5K Fun Run at the end of July in Indiana.
